What Are the Different Types of Arm Lift Procedures in Stratford?

You can choose between several different procedures if you want to have an armlift.

Traditional Brachioplasty involves removing excess skin and fat tissue and tightening the underlying muscle.

Mini Brachioplasty can be used to treat mild-to-moderate sagging or drooping in the upper arms, while Extended Brachioplasty is used for more severe cases.

Liposuction Brachioplasty combines traditional brachioplasty with liposuction to remove excess fat and tighten the tissues underneath.

Lastly, Limited-Incision Brachioplasty creates minimal scarring by using shorter incisions in order to reduce excess skin without large amounts of tissue removal.

Traditional Brachioplasty

Traditional brachioplasty can improve the contours in upper arms for those who live in Stratford. This procedure involves trimming excess skin off the back or underneath of the arm. It is a long-lasting procedure that allows patients to enjoy smoother and firmer hands for many years. In some cases, traditional brachioplasty is also used in conjunction with liposuction to ensure optimal results.

Recovery from traditional brachioplasty may take anywhere between 2 weeks and 1 month, depending upon the healing speed of each patient. During this time it is important to carefully follow your surgeons instructions, such as wearing a compressive garment and avoiding strenuous exercise.

After healing has occurred, you’ll likely be able to resume normal activities with improved arm shape and contour.

Mini Brachioplasty

Mini brachioplasty is a great option for those who want to enhance the contours of their upper body in a minimally invasive manner. This arm lift procedure is similar to traditional brachioplasty, but requires smaller incisions and shorter recovery time.

The procedure is designed to target the loose skin and fatty deposits on the undersides of the upper arms that have been caused by aging or weight-loss. During the procedure extra skin will be removed, and the tissue underneath will be tightened. The result is a natural-looking arm with an improved texture and tone.

The scars left by most people after a mini-brachioplasty are minimal and they can resume their daily routines within a week. After the healing process, patients are able to enjoy smoother, stronger arms with no visible signs of surgical intervention.

Extended Brachioplasty

If you’re looking for a more comprehensive approach to sculpting and contouring your upper body, extended brachioplasty could be the right option for you.

Extended brachioplasty is an operation designed to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arms. It is used most commonly to reduce sagging arms caused by extreme weight loss or aging. This procedure can also reduce the appearance of stretchmarks in this area.

Typically, it involves an incision along the inside of the arm from elbow to armpit, allowing surgeons to remove extra tissue while tightening remaining muscles and tissues in order to create a smoother, tighter look. Liposuction might be used to contour the arm in some cases.

Recovery time varies depending on individual anatomy and post-op care instructions given by your surgeon, but typically lasts between 4-6 weeks with full results seen after 3-6 months.

Liposuction with Brachioplasty

Combining brachioplasty with liposuction can improve results in those seeking to contour the upper body.

This procedure eliminates excess fat and skin from the arm, giving it a toned and slimmer appearance. Liposuction is a procedure that helps to create a better balance of the arm’s structure beneath its skin. The procedure clarifies existing fat that could interfere in the success of an armlift.

When done together, liposuction and brachioplasty allow patients to achieve more dramatic results than either procedure alone.

Stratford plastic surgery clinics offer qualified surgeons to assess the individual needs of each patient. They will then decide on which combination procedures are best for that person. Depending on their needs, this may include liposuction with brachioplasty or an extended brachioplasty alone. Before recommending any particular treatment, the surgeon will go over all options available with the patient.

Liposuction in combination with an upper arm lift, when done correctly, can offer long-lasting cosmetic improvements while reducing the amount of discomfort experienced during recovery.

Limited-Incision Brachioplasty

A limited-incision arm lift is a procedure in which smaller incisions are made than with traditional methods. The scarring is reduced and the recovery time is faster for Stratford patients considering an upper arm lift.

The upper arm skin is tightened and excess fat removed by using a single shorter incision instead of traditional techniques that use long incisions. The result? You’ll see smoother, firmer upper arms with minimal scarring.

The limited-incision procedure allows you to return to normal daily activities without any visible signs or prolonged recovery.

Spiral or Lateral Brachioplasty

Spiral or lateral brachioplasty is another popular arm-contouring procedure that can help create a more toned and youthful look.

This approach involves making an incision along the inside or back of the arm, from just above the elbow to just below it. This incision is used to remove excess skin and fat, while also creating a spiral design in the remaining tissue.

You may experience some residual laxity after this procedure. The recovery period for spiral brachioplasty or lateral labrachioplasty may range between one and two weeks, depending on how the patient heals.

Stratford plastic surgeons who specialize in this procedure can give you detailed information about the risks and benefits of the surgery, as well an estimated cost.

Non-Surgical Arm Tightening Options

Stratford, ON offers a few non-surgical solutions to tighten up your arms.

These include CoolSculpting and Ultherapy treatments, both of which use different forms of energy to target fat cells and stimulate collagen production.

It’s likely you’ll need more than just one treatment to achieve the best results. However, they are much cheaper than surgical armlifts.

Mini Arm Lift vs. Traditional Arm Lift

The decision between a Mini Arm Lift and a Traditional Arm Lift for your Stratford surgery can be very difficult.

The mini arm lifts use smaller incisions that can cause less scarring and bruising than the traditional armlift. The procedure is used to reduce excess skin in the upper arm of patients who are not obese.

Traditional arm lifts are more invasive. They require larger incisions and remove extra skin from the upper arm. It is suitable for people with significant sagging due to weight-loss or aging.

The recovery time for each type of arm lift is variable. After both procedures, patients may feel tender and swollen. However, they will see the results in a few short weeks after swelling subsides. A traditional arm lift may be more difficult to see than a smaller one, as the tissues need more healing time.

Ultimately, discussing both options with your plastic surgeon during your consultation in Stratford is key before making any decisions about which one would be best for you and your body goals. Your doctor will examine you closely and make sure that all safety protocols are followed during the surgery so that you get the most effective outcome possible.
