Rhinoplasty in Gander

Rhinoplasty refers to a surgical procedure that is used to improve the appearance and size of the nose. It involves reshaping of the soft tissue, cartilage, bones and other structures in the nose.

In Gander, experienced plastic surgeons who have a specialization in facial features including noses can perform rhinoplasty.

The goal of rhinoplasty surgical treatment is to achieve balance in your facial features. It also enhances your natural beauty.

During this operation, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss with your surgeon what kind of changes you’d like made to your nose so that it fits your aesthetic goals.

Your surgeon will then make strategically placed incisions around the nose and on it so that they can reach the inner structures to modify them if necessary.

Incisions can be closed using skin glue or sutures for the best possible results.

Follow the post-operative treatment instructions to ensure a speedy recovery and healing. These usually include taking a few days off of work or from school, while avoiding strenuous exercise until you have fully recovered.

A skilled surgeon will evaluate the nose and develop a plan of treatment that is tailored to your specific situation. According to the complexity of surgery, the patient may require general anesthesia. Once the plan is complete, the doctor follows it closely and uses delicate techniques that restore balance to the facial structure without compromising comfort.

For full correction, it may be necessary to perform additional cartilage grafting. After completing the procedure, bandages will be applied and you will receive instructions on how to care for your wounds.

Closed Rhinoplasty

Open Rhinoplasty

If you’re considering nose surgery in Gander, open rhinoplasty may be the right option for you.

Open rhinoplasty requires an incision to be made at the columella – the skin strip between nostrils – so that cartilage or bone structures can be accessed.

It allows the plastic surgeons to have greater control of their work, as they can reshape certain areas with ease without having to move too many soft tissues during the procedure.

Patients report better breathing after this type of surgery because the obstructions in the nasal passage have been removed.

Open rhinoplasty is more time-consuming than closed rhinoplasty but can have many positive results. It’s worth the extra effort.

Recovery time after open rhinoplasty varies depending on each individual’s unique case but often takes up to six weeks before swelling subsides enough for full results to become visible.

Following post-operative directions closely is essential to a successful recovery and to minimize any risks or complications related to nose surgery.

If you feel like open rhinoplasty might be right for you, speaking with a board certified surgeon about your concerns and goals could help you determine if this kind of treatment would be beneficial for achieving your desired outcome.

Functional rhinoplasty treats underlying problems such as malformations that cause breathing issues. This type of procedure can help improve airflow through the nasal passages while also improving aesthetic appearance.

Under general anaesthesia, functional rhinoplasty involves making incisions within the nostrils to gain access to both sides the septum. The surgeon will then make any necessary corrections to ensure optimal air flow through the nasal cavities and restore normal function of the nose’s internal structures.

This type of surgery is not only for restoring function, but can also be used to address cosmetic concerns such as reducing the size of a hump or refining the tip shape. Functional rhinoplasty can take anywhere from a week to up to three month depending on factors like age and patient health.

After surgery, it is important to avoid strenuous activities for at least 2 weeks and keep the head elevated while lying down. In order to achieve the best outcome and minimize complications, it is important that patients follow all of their doctor’s directions.
